1 Pet. 4 (NKJV) "11If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."

Acts 11 (NKJV) "26And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch."

Gal. 3 (NKJV) "16Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ."

Acts 4 (NKJV) "12Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Matt. 15 (NKJV) "13But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted."

Hos. 4 (NKJV) "6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."

Matt. 16 (NKJV) "16Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church..."

Gal. 3 (NKJV) "26For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

Colossians 2 (NKJV) "11In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ,"

1 Cor. 14 (NKJV) "33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints."

Tit. 1 (NKJV) "2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,"

~We read in the Bible that Jesus will be called "Counselor":

Isa 9 (NKJV) "6For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder, And His name will be called Wonder, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

~We also read:

Psa. 119 (NKJV) "24Your testimonies also are my delight; And my counselors."

Psa. 94 (NKJV) "12Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, And teach out of Your law,"

Isa. 40 (NKJV) "13Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, Or as His counselor has taught Him, 14With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him," And taught Him in the path of justice, Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding,"

2 Tim. 3 (NKJV) "15...from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

~God gave Israel over to walk in their own counsels:

Psalm 81 (NKJV) "11But My people would not heed My voice, And Israel would have none of Me. 12So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels. 13Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!"

~There were those in Israel who gave wicked counsel:

Eze. 11 (NKJV) "1Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the East Gate of the LORD's house, which faces eastward; and there at the door of the gate were twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azaur, and Peltiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2And He said to me; "Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and give wicked counsel in this city."

Isa 1 (NKJV) "26I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city."

~The Holy Spirit likewise says of the counsel of Pharaoh (Egypt):

Isa. 19 (NKJV) "11...Pharoah's wise counselors give foolish counsel..."

~We see in Psalm 106 that the Hebrews did not take God's counsel, but sinned by taking their own counsel.

Psa. 106 (KJV) "13They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel... 43Many times He delivered them; But they rebelled in their counsel, And were brought low for their iniquity."

~In Psa. 33:14, we read that God brings the counsel of the nations to nothing.

Psa. 33 (KJV) "10The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. 11The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. 12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance."

~In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul states that he declared the whole counsel of God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob).

Acts 20 (NKJV) "27For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God."

Rom 1 (NKJV) "16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."

~ALL Scripture is inspired (God-breathed, from the very breath of God) by God and is given so that the man of God may be complete. Man does not need to consult other religious books, psychiatrists, or worldly counselors because the man of God has the Counsel of God. Man needs to look no where else.

2 Tim. 3 (NKJV) "16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

~In a similar manner as the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God in the first century, many people in the past and today reject the counsel of God simply by not doing what the Word of God says to do.

Luke 7 (KJV) "29And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. 30But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him."

~Many people choose to worship God the way they want to instead of the way God wants us to. Notice that even Jesus, The Son of God, submitted to the Will of God, the Father. The Bible gives us the example of Jesus choosing to do God's Will instead of His Will when in the Garden of Gethsemane. And, God made Him our High Priest forever (in the order of Melchizedek).

Matt. 26 (KJV) "39Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Heb. 6 (NKJV) "13For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself... Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. 19This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."

~We are commanded not to take from or add to the Bible:

Deut. 4 (NKJV) "2You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

Prov. 30 (NKJV) "5Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. 6Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar."

Jer. 26 (NKJV) "2Thus says the LORD: Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Do not diminish a word."

1 Cor. 4 (NKJV) "6Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other."

Gal. 1 (NKJV) "6I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."

Gal. 3 (NKJV) "15Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. 16Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to your Seed, who is Christ. 17And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect."

2 Pet. 1 (NKJV) "19And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."

2 John 1 (NKJV) "8Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. 9Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Rev. 22 (NKJV) "18For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

~Therefore, the whole counsel of God is the Word of God, the Bible, nothing more, nothing less. Nothing can be added to it or taken away from it (such as other books and/or manuals) by anyone desiring to have eternal life. Many people add to and/or take away from the Word of God through idolatry, various different religions, denominational man-made doctrines, psychiatry, man's counseling (even those with "Christian principles").  The Random House Dictionary 2010 defines counsel as: "advice; opinion or instruction given in directing the judgment or conduct of another." God has given us all the instruction that we need as we read in 2 Tim. 3:16-17 above.

2 Tim. 4 (NKJV) "2Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables."

Matt. 7 (AMP) "13Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. 14But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it."
